Solar for U.S. Veterans is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential solar energy systems to veterans of the U.S. armed forces and their families. The organization coordinates the donation, design and installation of these systems by bringing together the hard work and goodwill of the solar energy industry and the broader business community. In addition, Solar for U.S. Veterans is working with educators to help interested veterans gain training in the fields of renewable-energy, energy efficiency and greenbuilding.

Founding Board Members

John Asalone – John is a Washington, DC-based management consultant who specializes in energy efficiency and high performance buildings. He currently works at Booz Allen Hamilton, a global strategy and technology consulting firm where he supports several clients such as the Department of Energy, the Office of Secretary of Defense, and the US Green Building Council. He is also the lead author of a Green Jobs Study that estimates the number of job supported by the green building market. Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, John was a Policy Analyst with the White House Office of Management of Budget focusing on energy and environmental regulations. He holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Adam Sewall – Adam works at GetSolar, a San Francisco-based company that helps individuals and businesses determine the best solar energy solution for their needs. In addition to consulting on commercial solar energy projects, Adam writes about renewable energy policy, related incentive programs, and the cost and financing of solar power systems. He also helps manage GetSolar web development and internal processes. Adam holds a masters degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where he studied climate policy, energy, and international trade and finance.
